Eye care in Mandan, North Dakota

Eye exams for the whole family, in one trip

Bring everyone from the farm, the ranch or the next town over. Dr. Villegas sees children and adults back to back, and tells you what each visit takes before you leave home.

What a visit takes

Five steps, one trip

The whole visit, from the phone call to the road home.

  1. 01

Step 1: Call or book online

Tell us who is coming. We book everyone in the family back to back, so you make the drive once.

  2. 02

Step 2: A call the day before

We confirm your time and ask about the weather. If a storm closes the roads, we move your visit to a clear day.

  3. 03

Step 3: Check-in and first tests

Marcus takes a few quick measurements of how your eyes focus and work together, and may take a picture of the back of each eye.

  4. 04

    Step 4: The exam

Dr. Villegas checks how clearly you see, finds your prescription, looks at the health of each eye and explains what she finds in plain words.

  5. 05

Step 5: Glasses, contacts and the drive home

Pick frames the same visit, or take your prescription home. It is yours, and you can fill it anywhere.

    How fees work

The people you will see

Three people, one office on Main Street

Dr. Villegas is the practice's only doctor.

    Teofila Villegas

    Doctor of Optometry, owner

    • Doctor of Optometry · ND License no. 000000

  • A man in a navy cardigan stands with a hand in his pocket beside an exam chair and a phoropter.

    Marcus Gatewood

    Optometric technician

    • Optometric technician · ND License no. 000000

Runs the first tests, teaches new contact lens wearers how to put lenses in and take them out, and keeps the day on time.

  • A woman in a charcoal blazer sits on an exam stool in a bright exam room with a phoropter behind her.

    Ayesha Farooqui

    Office manager

Books families together, calls the day before every visit, checks your benefits and explains the bill before you pay.

Before you make the drive

Do I need an exam if I see fine?

Yes. A child can see blurry for years without saying so, and some eye problems cause no symptoms early on. A regular exam gives the doctor numbers to compare with next time.

Can the whole family come in one trip?

Yes. Tell us who is coming and we book everyone back to back.

Do you work with my vision plan?

We work with many vision plans, and with medical insurance. Call with your plan's name and we will check before your visit. How fees work explains which visits each one pays.

What if a storm closes the roads?

Call us. We move your visit to a clear day.

Can I fill my prescription somewhere else?

Your prescription is yours. We give you a copy after your exam and fitting, and you can fill it anywhere.

What should I do in an eye emergency?

Sudden vision loss, flashes of light, a curtain over your vision, a chemical splash or an eye injury needs care now. Call our office right away or go to an emergency room. If you can't reach us, call 911.
