Questions families ask first
Do I need an exam if I see fine?
Yes. A child can see blurry for years without saying so, and some eye problems cause no symptoms early on. A regular exam gives the doctor numbers to compare with next time.
How often should we come in?
Most people have an exam every year or two. The doctor tells you what is right for your eyes and your health.
Do you work with my vision plan?
We work with many vision plans, and with medical insurance. Call with your plan's name and we will check before your visit.
Why was part of my visit billed to medical insurance?
A visit about an eye problem or an eye health check is usually billed to medical insurance, not a vision plan. How fees work explains which is which.
Can I fill my prescription somewhere else?
Your prescription is yours. We give you a copy after your exam and fitting, and you can fill it anywhere.
Can I have a copy of my contact lens prescription?
Yes. We give you a copy when your fitting is finished.
What should I bring?
Your glasses and contact lenses, your insurance cards, a list of the eye drops and medicines you use and your questions.
How much will it cost?
It depends on your plan and on what you choose. We check your benefits first and give you a written estimate before you decide. How fees work explains each part.
What if a storm closes the roads?
Call us. We move your visit to a clear day.
Is there a waitlist?
Call the office. We will tell you where we stand and put your family on the list.
